The front line doesn’t need help

All right, I’m still bitter about the Taco Charlton signing. I still liked Ryan Ramcyk instead. Yeah, I was called crazy for it.

I still can’t figure out why nobody was bothered by all the changes at the front line going into 2017. Ronald Leary to Denver. La’el Collins flips over to right tackle. And all was supposed to be okay?

Weren’t you a little nervous?

Rushing to Cooper

See my comments above. First, Tony Romo wasn’t good enough during his playing days. Now, fans want him back. Or, at the very least, they want everyone but Dak Prescott. Makes no sense to me.

Rush has no meaningful playing time in the NFL. But, you know, let’s roll the dice. Let’s dial this whole topic all the way back to Drew Henson while we are at it.

And, let’s not even work through some of the problems Prescott has, because quarterbacks come packaged perfectly with no flaws.

Pay the D-Law

Anybody else a bit tentative on this one? No, really. Lawrence had a stellar year, no doubt. But the timing is a bit odd for me. Follow me for a second.

In 2017, DeMarcus Lawrence played in all 16 games, recorded 58 tackles and 14.5 sacks.

From 2014 to 2016, the second rounder played in 32 games, recorded 75 tackles and just nine sacks. Pay the guy? I don’t know. Shouldn’t we be cautious about dishing out the bucks? Haven’t we learned from this?

It’ll be interesting to see what he asks for in terms of compensation. He turns 26 in April.
