4. The real Cowboy

Sean Lee had 18 tackles. 18. I um… kinda want to end this segment there. 18!

The Cowboys totaled 92 tackles against the Giants. Sean Lee had 18 of them. Yes, 18. 10 of them were solo tackles.

Did I write 18? Yes, 18.

There’s no better general than a healthy Lee on the turf. The NFC better hope the Raiders and Seahawks topple the Cowboys. Lee is a monster, and he will eat in the post season.

5. Adjustments

For a while there, the Cowboys had a mind-blowing problem with second-half adjustments. I really think the biggest turn around has been this youth rush in the secondary.

I mentioned my love for Awuzie above. But we cannot deny the emergence of Jourdan Lewis, Jaylon Smith, Xavier Woods and Anthony Hitchens.

These guys are all 25 or under. Three of the names I mentioned are rookies. Smith is a second-year player who is essentially a rookie himself, having sat all of last year.

A lot of discussion goes to how high the ceiling is for Dak and Zeke and the stars on the offensive line. But the defense is really, really getting interesting to watch.

The youth movement is clearly here. Defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli has more magic dust to play with, and it’s showing on game days.

Would NFC teams line up to play with this feisty defense? Let’s see. Adjust away, dear Rod!
