Second Round: Defensive lineman

Carl Lawson (Auburn)

Lawson will likely be taken early on Day 2 however the Cowboys could either trade up to land him or he could see a dramatic fall. His past injuries especially to his knee are worrisome on a Watt level but has been a monster when on the field.

He has more experience than Watt along the defensive line and will be more productive early on. If he is on the board during the Cowboys selection on Day 2 the team should take him based off value alone.

Tarell Basham (Ohio)

Basham is a day 2 talent who has a striking similarity to the player we have listed above (Lawson). He is bigger but with that comes some added stiffness that should diminish with time. Basham is a bruiser and loves contact so he would be a solid addition to this teams defensive line.

Jordan Willis (Kansas State)

Willis is a high motor, grinder who looks to make contact with the ball carrier. He may tip his hand early when it comes to rushing opposing quarterbacks but his game could be adjusted. He would provide excellent depth to the Cowboys defensive line.

Favorite: Jordan Willis
