OL – Cincinnati Bengals, Week 5

Of course the best offensive line in the NFL is the one here in Dallas! But there will be a number of tricky opponents to face this season.

Following in the footsteps of the Cowboys in drafting first round offensive lineman, the Redskins are building a solid unit for Kirk Cousin’s. The Packers too have an impressive line protecting the jewel in their crown in Aaron Rodgers.

Yet it’s the Bengals line that I’ve opted for as the biggest threat here. In 13 appearances last year, quarterback Andy Dalton was sacked just 20 times. Compare that to Tony Romo who played four games but was sacked six times.

A lot of money is invested in the Bengals o-line. Andrew Whitworth, Clint Boling and Kevin Zeitler all rank as top ten earners at their position. 2015 they spent their first two picks on tackles Cedric Ogbuehi and Jake Fisher. Injury caused Ogbuehi to miss the majority of his rookie season, but the pair are expected to get significant playing time in 2016.

"“We’re going to make a hole if we have to. Those guys are talented – they’ve got to play. Ogbuehi’s got to be a starter and Fisher maybe has to be a starter, too.” – Paul Alexander, Bengals offensive line coach"

This match up will be an early test for the Cowboys. Both Randy Gregory and DeMarcus Lawrence will be penciled in to return in this game after serving four game suspensions. The Cowboys will want them to bounce back with a bang.
