#3 – Right or Wrong? Brandon Carr Release, or Not

Fail.

I get that the market for cornerbacks is booming in the free agency right now. The salaries are skewed, in favor of the cornerbacks. But that doesn’t lend faith in Carr’s status as a member of the Cowboys.

I disagree with Todd Archer over at ESPN who posits that the Cowboys need to find a replacement before they release Carr. That is what Claiborne’s re-signing was — a replacement call.

Carr needs to go. The Cowboys overpaid. It is time to start fresh. Clear the books. Find the next man up in the draft or in the free agency.

Right or Wrong?

Wrong.

Carr. Must. Go. Now.

#4 – Right or Wrong? Cedric Thornton

Okay. So that’s what ripping a player from a division rival feels like.

Cedric Thornton was a great signing. The defensive end’s contract is more than fair, which inks out at four-year deal worth $18 million.

The Cowboys get a talented, big body in the middle.

Standing at six-foot-four, he carries himself around at 310 pounds.

The 27-year-old has missed only three games the last four years, playing in 61 games out a possible 64 contests. He has recorded 172 tackles along with four sacks as a Philadelphia Eagle. Entering his fifth season in the league, he turns 28 this June.

Right or Wrong?

Right.

The Cowboys get a day one starter for defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli’s program. Thornton has shown to be position resilient in the past, playing 3-4 and 4-3. He has 4-3 1-technique experience as well as 3-technique.
