5. Adam Jones, Cornerback

Woah. Calm down. Why are you typing a new website in your URL bar?

Seriously, the Cowboys need help in the secondary. Brandon Carr is a highlight reel – for the other team. His time here is a regrettable, forgettable one. It also leaves a hole.

Adam Jones, a former Dallas Cowboy (2008) who once was known as “Pac-Man,” ranked 5th among all cornerbacks in 2015 according to Pro Football Focus.

I know: I double looked too. But the truth is, Jones has been productive the last few years. And let’s not forget, he also returns kicks and punts.

Jones is entering his 10th season in the league. Now a free agent, Jones spent six seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals. The five-foot-ten, former first rounder turns 33 in September. He earned his first Pro Bowl nod last year.

2015 | 14 Games | 12 Pass Deflections | 3 Interceptions

2014 | 16 Games | 11 Pass Deflections | 3 Interceptions

2013 | 16 Games | 12 Pass Deflections | 3 Interceptions

My Final Verdict: Adam Jones has turned the corner. If he doesn’t have the urge to slap the clipboard out of the hands of the coaches, which should be an entry interview question now, then I say sign him for a low one-year or two-year deal. Either way, his services are welcome as a possible number two or three cornerback.

I mean, it can’t be worse than Brandon Carr. Right?

(Laughing nervously.)

Right?
