3. The Draft of a New Quarterback

You must be thinking: Right, drafting a new guy behind Tony Romo is sure to help the star quarterback. After all, there’s usually only one quarterback on the field.

But keep this in mind, of Romo’s 10 years as the full-time starter, nobody has ever come close to challenging him. Romo even fended off Johnny Manziel chit-chat, declaring to the world that he’d simply beat any quarterback out, including Johnny Football.

On that matter, he was right – Manziel turned out to be nothing more than a tool.

The day Romo hangs up the cleats is coming closer. A little competition wouldn’t hurt; to ignite the fire behind him would be a blessing, even at this stage in his career.

As good as Romo has been for Dallas, the truth is he has known all along he’s been the answer and savior. He had a front seat in 2015 to see how life without him would play out (read: awful).

Romo’s time on the sidelines has given the quarterback the opportunity to teach. He obviously has the fire burning even without the pads on. Using some of that teaching energy on the next Tony Romo wouldn’t hurt him either.

It’d probably light the fire a little more.

And that’d be a great thing to see as he plays out his final years.
