As players get measured up, look for EDGE rushers with at least 33” arms and 10” hands
A player may like long walks in the park, reading poetry to loved ones but on gameday they need to transform into a monster. We want relentless intensity. A tenacious playing style with constant motor.
Obvious maybe, but absolutely critical in this age. Do they have the quickness and strength do deal with the ever nimble quarterbacks in the modern game? Take note of players 40 times- are they slow burners that need space to get up speed or do they have that burst of acceleration to get to their man. Do they have the necessary flexibility to play with their hand in the dirt or to make the sharp turns to make a play?
Pass rush moves
How does a player break from the grasp of an offensive line to get to their quarterback target? They can slap and grab, perform a swim move, they may rip opponents from their grasp, use a spin move to throw someone off of my personal favourite to watch- the bull rush.
