2. Tom Landry would find his Tony Dorsett
I’m not knocking on running back Darren McFadden, or even DeMarco Murray‘s accomplishments in Dallas for that matter.
But the Cowboys need to secure their star back, and that begins with the NFL Draft.

Coach Landry selected Tony Dorsett in 1977 with the second pick in the NFL Draft.
The Boys moved into the slot by trading their 24th pick and three second-rounders to secure their franchise running back.
Dorsett would go on to serve the Cowboys for 12 seasons, rushing for nearly 13,000 yards with 77 rushing scores.
He averaged 4.3 yards per carry, and added 398 receptions with 3,554 receiving yards to his resume.
He won two Super Bowls and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1994.
Landry produced Dorsett, Herschel Walker and Calvin Hill under his watch.
The coach would go young again at the position to compliment the best offensive line in football, who are yet to reach their prime.
