It would appear the Cowboys set a trend with the unsexy first round pick in Zack Martin last year, and the Redskins are looking to replicate that.

With the fifth overall pick in the draft they passed on the defensive dynamic player in Leonard Williams instead plumping for offensive tackle/guard Brandon Scherff.

"“Scherff is a lot like Zack Martin from last year’s draft.”- Mike Mayock, NFL.com"

With defensive backs a need throughout the NFC East, Washington were comfortable enough with the addition of Chris Culliver to hold off in the draft until round six where they drafted Kyshoen Jarrett and Tevin Mitchel.

They arguably could’ve looked to secure a more pro ready player with an early pick but this Redskins team had plenty of holes to fill and not enough plugs.

The only team in the NFC East who filled all their needs according to NFL.com yet I would still consider their haul of players as the poorest of the teams in the division.

But if you want to make bad look better then the Redskins need all the help they can get.
