Could the Cowboys go on and add another Brit in this years draft? Quite possibly! Boise State running back Jay Ajayi was born in England. If the Cowboys opted to bring him in it’d be a dream come true for the young man. Aged seven he moved with his parents to Texas. He grew up as a Cowboys fan and follows in the steps of several current players to join Boise State. Ajayi counts Cowboy and former Bronco graduate Tyrone Crawford as a mentor.

Ajayi would be a perfect addition to the roster. He’s a wriggly workhorse of a back, who is so good at getting yards after contact. A genuine all rounder- not dissimilar to the departed DeMarco Murray. Unfortunately I think he’s out of the Cowboys reach. 27 will be too early while he’s likely to be gone by our second round pick. My prediction? The British Back joins the British Jaguars team.

As a British fan of the American game the addition of players from the UK can only be a good thing. It’s an advert to people who don’t usually follow the game. Having a compatriot involved in a sport certainly raises interest. Jack Crawford maybe a minor player to fans in the US, but he’s a real favourite amongst fans over here. There’s no doubt that the love of the sport is growing year on year. So watch out Dallas, there could be plenty more of us Brits to come!
