2. Rolando McClain, Linebacker

When Cowboys linebacker Sean Lee was added to the injured reserve list it was hard to see where his replacement was going to come from. Had someone suggested that the answer was going to be a twice retired twenty four year old not too many would’ve taken the chance. However, when the deal with the Baltimore Ravens and Cowboys for Rolando McClain was made, I was quietly confident this could work out.

Now a quarter of the way into the season, and McClain sits atop the PFF rankings for linebackers. A groin injury meant he sat out the victory over the Rams, but until then he’d led the team in tackles. It’d be easy to question McClain’s commitment to the Cowboys cause, but sometimes a team and a player find each other at the right time and that appears to be the case here.

"“I need to be on the field. They want me on the field, we need everybody. It’s not taking one, it’s taking everybody to finish the game.”"

The prospect of next season with a fit Sean Lee and McClain with a year as a Cowboy under his belt is very exciting.
