Still I remain optimistic even though the Cowboys defense is ranked 28th, giving up 409.2 yards per game. The Philadelphia Eagles are ranked 31st allowing 434.0 yards per game. The New York Giants are ranked 25th with 395.5 yards per game, but ranked 30th with 16.4 points per game. Finally, that Washington team is ranked dead last in the NFL, allowing 440.5 yards per game and ranked 17th, only scoring 22.8 points per game. Long story short, the teams in our division can’t outscore the Cowboys and two of them have defenses ranked worse than ours.

Cowboys are still in first place in the division and our three losses have come to teams in the AFC West. We’re 1-0 in the division and 2-0 in the conference. I expect the Cowboys to win the division out right and hopefully avoid some crazy tie-breaker scenario that involves common opponents. Even that wouldn’t be so bad, since Washington is the only NFC East team with a win against an AFC West opponent (The Oakland Raiders).

Our ability to control and dominate the line of scrimmage is disappointing, but I believe it gets better. Hopefully Jerry Jones realizes that it’s easy to acknowledge the smiling face of the general manager and front desk clerk but it’s the housekeepers and maintenance staff that keep the toilets unclogged, provide fresh towels and linens and the air conditioner frosty. Our housekeepers and maintenance staff are the offensive and defensive lines and they are essential for this team to perform at it’s best.

I’ll be enjoying this weekend responsibly with a cold glass of Tito’s Vodka as the Cowboys easily defeat Washington. Won’t you join me?
