What I Am Looking For In The Dallas Cowboys vs. St. Louis Rams Game!

DeMarco Murray: Can he be the running back the Cowboys have been missing all season? Felix Jones has not lived up to the number 1 running back status he said he would in the offseason.  There have been plenty of times this season when the Cowboys have needed to run the ball for a touchdown or first down and Jones has not got the job done. Murray got a good amount of action in the New England game and has become the go to guy ahead of Tashard Choice. Murray has the chance to prove he can not only do the job but also take the job from Jones who is not doing much to keep it. I see Murray having a 65 yard rushing day and a touchdown.

Dez Bryant: Can he show up in the 2nd half?  Bryant had 78 yards against the Patriots on Sunday which sounds good until you see that all those yards were in the 1st half, Bryant didn’t have a single catch in the 2nd half. Now this wouldn’t scare me if it was the first time it had happen but this is becoming a re-occurrence for Dez. Bryant has 249 yards this season in 4 games however only 50 of those yards have come in the 2nd half. Now if you look at the Cowboys last two games, the Lions and Pats both came back to beat the Cowboys in the 2nd half. Dez wants to be elite and be the main guy then he needs to show up in the 2nd half and start getting the job done, because only playing half the game won’t get it done. I see Bryant having an 82 yard receiving game but no touchdowns.

Defense

DeMarcus Ware: How many sacks will he record this week? Ware had a really good game against the Patriots recording 2 sacks against Tom Brady. Going into Week 7 there has only been one game in which DeMarcus hasn’t recorded a sack and that was Week 4 against the Lions. The Rams offensive line has been really bad this year, and Sam Bradford has spent most games running for his life. If Bradford plays or if A.J. Feely steps in won’t matter, Ware is going to be spending a lot of time in the Rams backfield. I see at least 2 sacks for DeMarcus Ware on Sunday.

Rob Ryan: Can his defense continue its great play from last week? Whatever the game plan was against the Patriots, it worked, at least until the last drive. However, Ryan had a great plan against Brady and I am interested to see what he has in store for Sam Bradford. I want to see the defense continue to throw the kitchen sink at teams because there are few teams in this league as good as the Patriots and you can see how hard of a time they had with Ryan’s defense.

The Secondary: Can they keep up the good play? The secondary the past two weeks have had quite the challenge, first they had Calvin Johnson and then the all the weapons the Patriots have. Against the Lions they struggled in the 2nd half against Johnson; however, last week against the Patriots, you could not have asked for much better coverage by the secondary. Now the Rams are 25th in the league in passing, but Bradford just got a new weapon in Brandon Lloyd. I expect the Cowboys to do what every team the Rams have seen so far have done, and that is deny them anything in terms of passing. I see the secondary having a field day with at least 2 picks.
