The Dallas Cowboys secured a win over the LA Chargers in Week 6. Dak Prescott's bounce-back performance is far and away the most important takeaway as the QB finally got back to trusting his instincts and making plays with his legs.

The Chargers sacked Prescott four times, but the QB escaped another five possible sacks. He had a rushing touchdown and led the team with 40 rushing yards.

If Prescott doesn't use (and trust) his legs, Dallas doesn't win. He set up a 60-yarder to Tony Pollard by dancing out of a collapsed pocket, and that big gainer set up the go-ahead touchdown: a beautiful lofted pass to Brandin Cooks.

Prescott's legs came up big on the Dallas' final drive that ended with Brandon Aubrey drilling the game-winning 39-yard field goal.

Aubrey's consistency is expected at this point. So much so that Dak made up a nickname for the "smooth" operator speaking to the media postgame.

Dak Prescott's nickname for Cowboys K Brandon Aubrey is perfect

Goodbye "Money Maher' and hello "Butter Aubrey."

All kidding aside, Maher doesn't deserve to catch any strays. The Cowboys understandably moved on from Maher in the offseason. It's still early days in the Aubrey era, but it's impossible to argue that Dallas upgraded at kicker in the former USFL star.

Aubrey was perfect yet again Monday night against the Chargers. He made both field goals and extra points, including the game-winner with 2:19 left in the fourth quarter. He accounted for eight points in a game the Cowboys won by three.

Perfection has been the standard for Aubrey since he missed an extra point in Week 1. Entering the Week 7 bye, that's the only blemish on Aubrey's resume. He outscored the Jets by himself in Week 2, including a make from 55 yards and the following week outscored Dallas' offense with a 3-for-3 showing against the Cardinals.

Considering how panicked fans were in the offseason about the kicking situation, Aubrey's been nothing short of a godsend for the Cowboys. The rookie is a perfect 16-of-16 on field goals to start his career and is two makes away from tying Travis Coons' record of 18 in a row for Cleveland in 2015.

Aubrey has been smooth personified for a rookie kicker. Any NFL RedZone subscribers understand how many missed kicks occur every week, especially ones in high-leverage situations. Not only has Aubrey been perfect, but all of his kicks are right down the middle.

"Butter Aubrey" might not do the 28-year-old justice if he starts breaking records.
