The Dallas Cowboys didn’t pummel the Titans on Thursday night. By winning the game, though, they kept pressure on the Eagles in the NFC East race.

As much as it would’ve been awesome to watch Dak Prescott and company torch Tennessee for 40 points, the Cowboys were clearly intent on running the football and leaving Nashville with a victory and no major injuries

Thursday marked another strong night for Prescott. Aside from a poorly-thrown interception intended for Dalton Schultz that Kevin Byard read like a book, fans should have no complaints with the QB’s performance.

In fact, the biggest concern from the game in regard to Prescott occurred when he came up hobbled following a sack. Dak immediately grabbed his knee and was in noticeable discomfort trying to walk off the injury.

Prescott remained in the game, and alleviated concerns by scrambling for a first down just minutes removed from the sack. Of course, adrenaline is always a factor in these situations, and  fans waited eagerly overnight for an update on QB1.

During a Friday appearance on 105.3 The Fan, Jerry Jones did exactly that, saying there was never concern about Dak’s ability to continue in the game.

More Cowboys News:

  • Jones added that the Cowboys’ brass regularly checked with the sideline for updates on Prescott’s status. You never want to see hyperextension associated with your QB, but it seems as though he merely tweaked his knee on the sack. Dak was in great spirits on Amazon’s postgame show, and there’s nothing to suggest he’s dealing with anything serious.
  • Later in the interview, Jones was asked about the ridiculous Terrell Owens rumors that were unearthed this week. Jones threw freezing cold water on the quote from Owens’ agent, who claimed he and the retired receiver have been in “consistent contact” with ownership about a Cowboys reunion.
  • Jones said he hasn’t talked to Owens or his agent, and will not “seriously consider” signing the 49-year-old out of retirement. That’s a relief, though it’s a little head-scratching Jones said “seriously consider” and not simply “consider.” Guess Jerry can’t help himself but send mixed signals.
  • Getting back to the injury front, Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News reported Tyler Biadasz suffered a high-ankle sprain against the Titans. He won’t play in the finale in Washington, but there’s optimism Biadasz could be available for the first round of the playoffs. What a relief.
  • When Biadasz exited the game, Connor McGovern moved to center, with Tyler Smith shifting to left guard, and Jason Peters filling in at LT. The right side remained unchanged with Zack Martin at RG and Tyron Smith at RT.

NFL News:

  • Jalen Hurts practiced Thursday for the first time since injuring his throwing shoulder in Week 16. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni remains undecided on the team’s starter for Sunday. Though Hurts is a warrior, it’d be shocking if Gardner Minshew wasn’t under center against the Saints.
  • Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa is still in concussion protocol, and was ruled out for Sunday’s tilt against the Patriots. Losers of four straight, Miami is clinging to a Wild Card spot, and will turn to Teddy Bridgewater in Foxborough. The Dolphins need a win and a Jets loss to clinch a playoff berth.
  • This isn’t news, but the 12-3 Bills play the 11-4 Bengals in Cincinnati in a game-of-the-year candidate on Monday Night Football. Adjust your schedules accordingly for what is sure to be a high-scoring affair.
