3 reasons the Cowboys will beat the Titans in Week 17

1. Malik Willis isn’t ready for primetime
When watching Malik Willis prepare for the 2022 NFL Draft, it was easy to see why teams would be enamored with his potential. His arm strength was being compared to Jay Cutler, plus he had incredible speed and playmaking abilities with his legs as well.
However, he was also seen as a work in progress. Willis left Auburn and finally broke out with Liberty where he was never really tested by elite defenses. Even with that being the case, he showed some inconsistencies in his game and had problems with accuracy.
That’s continued in the NFL as he enters this week with a completion percentage of just 50.8 with 276 yards passing, zero touchdowns, and three picks. He does have 123 yards and a touchdown as a runner but he doesn’t threaten defenses at all with his arm.
Willis is just 1-2 as a starter and had 99 yards and two picks last week against Houston. The Texans won that game 19-14 and Tennessee is now on a five-game losing streak.
With Ryan Tannehill injured, Willis is again going to be under center and there’s no reason to believe he’s suddenly going to get it all figured out on a short week against an opportunistic defense.
It’s not time to give up on his prospects for the future but right now, the rookie is far from ready for primetime.
