Tight End(3):

Dalton Schultz
Jake Ferguson
Peyton Hendershot

A former fourth-round pick from Stanford, Dalton Schultz broke out in 2020. He put together another massive season in 2021 and now enters this year on the franchise tag. He reportedly grew frustrated with the front office for not budging on their contract offer but should be focused on the field once Week 1 hits.

One reason Dallas might not be willing to budge is the presence of Jake Ferguson. Another fourth-round pick, Ferguson was added this offseason following a stellar career with Wisconsin. He’s shown so far that his game translates to the NFL as he’s been fine as a blocker but very good as a pass-catcher as well.

Those two spots have been locked up for a while but the No. 3 position in the tight end room has been up for grabs. Right now, it’s down to Sean McKeon and Peyton Hendershot, but it feels like there’s a clear-cut favorite in Hendershot.

The undrafted free agent from Indiana has been a solid route runner and had his best game on Friday. He caught what proved to be the game-winning touchdown and had Grier not held the ball too long earlier in the game, he would have had another.

Dallas went without a fullback, so two tight end sets will be utilized a lot and there might even be plays with Hendershot or Ferguson lined up in an H-Back role.
