4. Malik Jefferson

The Texas native and NFL journeyman linebacker Malik Jefferson just can’t seem to catch a break. After initial excitement about signing with the Cowboys and working in training camp, the Dallas front office signed 4x Pro-Bowl linebacker Anthony Barr.

Now, with their depth at linebacker Jefferson will need to beat out Luke Gifford in order to secure his spot on the roster. He has the talent to do so but Gifford has the experience in the system and has been showing up in training camp practices which doesn’t bode well for Jefferson.

His experience in the NFL could lead a team to take a chance on him and add more depth to their linebacking group if they are going through a rash of injuries. McClay might just be able to flip this late off-season signing into a receiver.
