The Dallas Cowboys OTA’s have begun and the fan excitement around the team is starting to rise. For the players, their work is just beginning, and for a few of them, each snap and rep could determine their future with the team.

Those few players are going to be working hard to fend off younger or more athletic players in order to keep their positions. We won’t be able to see how all of them are truly going to do until they get into training camp, but here’s an early look at three players that are going to be fighting to either keep their spot in the lineup or are at risk of being released from the team altogether.

We may even see some surprise cuts before the season begins depending on how players perform in offseason programming.

Tyler Biadasz’s roster spot on the team is secure unless there is a serious drop-off in his practice and effectiveness on the field. What is in jeopardy for him though is his starting position at center for the Cowboys after the addition of an undrafted free agent in Alec Lindstrom and the praise for Matt Farniok by the Dallas front office this offseason.

Biadasz’s play on the field has gotten better over the last two seasons but overall he’s still been somewhat of a weakness amongst the offensive line. Now, without former left guard Connor Williams, his effectiveness will be put into even further questioning.

It’s possible that we see his play on the field get even better and the Cowboys throwing out the names of both Farniok and Lindstrom could be seen as a way to motivate him. But, this team shouldn’t need to motivate Biadasz to step his game up, which could be a sign that the Cowboys really are looking to find his replacement.

The team needs someone who will solidify the middle of that offensive line going forward. Training camp and preseason games are going to be what could save Biadasz or it could relegate him to a backup role going forward.
