2. Chris Olave, Wide Receiver, Ohio State

The Cowboys’ front office put this team in a position where they must add another wide receiver. I think the guy they most want to add will be Chris Olave from Ohio State. While Olave is not the prototypical size for a receiver (6-10, 187lbs) he relies on his elite speed and route running to create separation with ease.

He also seamlessly fits into what the Cowboys are doing on offense. He is versatile, having success in both the slot and outside at Ohio State. To be exact, Olave had 872 snaps outside and 147 in the slot throughout his college career. According to Pro Football Focus, Olave has a career 4.9% drop rate, which is elite for a guy that saw plenty of downfield targets.

The Cowboys have not had a true deep threat in some time, so that should be a key attribute of whatever receiver they decide to take in this draft. Overall, Olave is well worth the 24th overall pick and the Cowboys should run to the podium if he is still available.
