The Dallas Cowboys are in a wonderful place right now. A win… is a win… is a win, to be clear. With that out of the way, Sunday’s contest against the Giants was a bit too close for comfort and you would hope they don’t make them that hard moving forward. Again though, you love the win and especially one that helps cement them as the toast of the NFC East.

In that game though and aside from Cowboys domination, at points, of course, there was something else to occur that has become familiar to the Dallas Cowboys this season. That would be takeaways.

Specifically, the Dallas Cowboys have become your weekly source of Code DB-7… heinous and unlawful theft of a quarterback… or interceptions. While Anthony Brown joined the party this past week (can and will do a soliloquy on the guy) with a pick-six of his own, in the glory and honor of the namesake of the code, Trevon Diggs is the main man in that area for Dallas and frankly…. the entire league, at the moment.

For Cowboys fans though and especially of a certain ilk, the kind of production that the takeaway artist formerly known as Trevon is putting up has only been reserved for one man in Cowboys lore (we don’t acknowledge San Francisco, Atlanta, Washington, and lord knows wherever else around these parts… ok, slightly):

… Primetime, Neon Deion, *Heel Skip-*Heel Skip-*Double Heel Skip-*Double Heel Skip…

The Man, the myth, the legend, Deion Sanders. Well and (admittedly) though not fully him yet but almost, right now anyways, Diggs is approaching a territory where we can logically begin to ask that question.

Is he on his way to becoming that… or at least something close? Well, that remains to be seen and while if he keeps on this trajectory, he will be, there are some that are invoking those words and thoughts right now.

Here’s the kicker though. That some… just so happens to be some of those most qualified to do it, a couple of Cowboys Legends and a guy that just so happens to be one of the guys that fact-checks the Cowboys grocery list.

As seen below, Cowboys Executive Vice President, CEO, and Director of Player Personnel, Stephen Jones certainly thinks so and you’d imagine he’s had a pretty good view of both guys. The guy that was the leader on the other side of the ball for some of Prime’s prime years, Troy Aikman, also said as much.

He felt so strongly that he did it on the grandest stage. It was a notion that he hinted at during Sunday’s Cowboys-Giants broadcast, on live tv, and on America’s Game Of The Week no less, typically one of the highest viewed games.

They weren’t alone though. The Playmaker, Michael Irving, also couldn’t contain himself (but what do you expect from a guy as intense as he is).

Here is what he had to say on the topic.

Again… wow! However, if you can’t take it from these guys, then who’s intel, information, and educated opinions can you trust?

The jury is still out and Diggs has a long way to go before he scratches the totality of the lore, legend, and Hall Of Fame career of Primetime. But and a huge “but”, if he continues what he is doing and maintains this type of pace and trajectory, he’s well on his way. That’s not just the word from here. Cowboys Royalty seems to agree too.
