3. CeeDee Lamb, WR

Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is ranked as the third-best Dallas Cowboys’ receiver and 42nd best receiver in the league according to Madden. Lamb received an 81 overall in the game, even after having 1,000 total scrimmage yards as a rookie a season ago.

His Cowboys’ teammate wide receiver Michael Gallup was given an 82 overall to start the season. However, it is very confusing as to why Gallup is higher overall than Lamb. Last season, the former Colorado State star only had 59 catches for 843 yards and five touchdowns, all less than Lamb.

Even without Prescott, Lamb was able to eclipse 100 targets in his rookie season. He also was arguably better than Gallup all season long.

The Madden rankings for this position likely weren’t as accurate as the other positions. Wide receivers like T.Y. Hilton (83), Marvin Jones (83), John Brown (82), and Sterling Shepard (81) all were given a higher overall than Lamb. None of these players had more total yards than Lamb last season and only Jones had more receiving yards than him. (978 for Jones & 935 for Lamb).

Lamb’s 81 overall rating is probably too low for the up-and-coming star. With the reports of the former Oklahoma wideout being this year’s breakout player, his overall should probably be higher.
