Sweet 16: Cowboys offensive skill player roster prediction
By Riley Donald
Tight Ends
2020 (4): Blake Jarwin, Dalton Schultz, Blake Bell, Sean McKeon
2021 Prediction (3): Blake Jarwin, Dalton Schultz, Sean McKeon
Jarwin and Schultz are not necessarily one and two on the depth chart, but maybe more of a 1A and 1B type situation. These two will be on the roster opening day, minus any preseason injuries. Schultz outperformed expectations last year and was very reliable while Jarwin is showing signs of coming back healthy from an ACL injury and ready to contribute.
I have the Cowboys going one spot lighter for the tight end spot this season. With the talent at receiver and Dak Prescott’s ability to air it out, swapping a fourth tight end for another weapon seems likely. That puts Sean McKeon as the last tight end on the roster.
A couple of catches in the Hall of Fame game as well as a year in the Cowboys organization gives him a stronghold on the final tight end spot.
The Dallas Cowboys have the top of their skill positions figured out and practically set in stone barring any unforeseen circumstances. These final few guys fighting to make the 53-man roster have a lot more on the line and if they make the cut, the work just begins. Staying on the roster and providing on-field contributions are the next task.
