Dallas Cowboys 2020 draft class second year projections
Tyler Biadasz, C
Entering training camp, there appears to be no competition on the roster to challenge former fourth-rounder Tyler Biadasz for the starting center position. The Cowboys are all but gift wrapping him the role. Veteran Joe Looney, who started 12 games at center for Dallas just last season, is currently a free agent.
2021 seventh-round selection Matt Farniok could play well enough this summer to earn the backup role. But if he doesn’t, the plan might be to shift one of the guards, perhaps Connor McGovern or Connor Williams, to center in case Biadasz is injured. But all signs point to the second-year lineman having all but locked up the starting role before camp has even started.
2021 Stat Projection:16-game starter at center
Bradlee Anae, DE
Like Reggie Robinson, defensive end Bradlee Anae could be on the roster bubble this summer due to the change at defensive coordinator and a slew of new faces along the defensive line. Anae barely saw the field as a rookie playing a total of six defensive snaps. Defensive additions at his position like rookie Chauncey Golston and veteran Tarell Basham make the second-year pass rusher a more likely practice squad candidate than a contributor in 2021.
2021 Stat Projection: Practice Squad
Ben DiNucci, QB
Despite his disastrous lone start as a rookie, where he completed just 21 of his 40 passes for 180 yards and was sacked four times in a 23-9 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, quarterback Ben DiNucci is still viewed as a developmental project.
That could change quickly as the Cowboys have been searching for a veteran passer to sign with recent visits made by Jeff Driskel and Brett Hundley. Regardless, it appears DiNucci is likely heading to the practice squad this season unless his development jumps dramatically this summer.
