Here are three Dallas Cowboys we’ll be watching closely in Week Eight

The Dallas Cowboys enter their Week Eight matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles having lost four out of their last five games including a stunning 25-3 blowout to the lowly Washington Football Team just last week.

One of the main reasons America’s Team possesses a record of 2-5 is due to numerous injuries to key positions. In Philly, Dallas will start a seventh-round rookie under center following injuries suffered by both quarterbacks Dak Prescott and Andy Dalton. The young passer is one of three Cowboys we’ll be watching closely on Sunday Night Football in the pivotal divisional contest.

Ben DiNucci, QB

In what could be a difficult starting debut for seventh-round rookie quarterback Ben DiNucci, the Cowboys should try everything they can to take the pressure off their very inexperienced passer. But if this game falls in line with the rest of this season, expect Dallas to fall behind early. Thereby forcing DiNucci to try and get them back into the contest using his arm.

That could spell trouble for the Cowboys in an important NFC East matchup that not even the team’s own analysts believe Dallas will win. Unless DiNucci can put on a Romo-Esque performance, fans should brace for another blowout disappointment.

Randy Gregory, DE

Returning from a long suspension, defensive end Randy Gregory made his debut last week against the Washington Football Team. Unfortunately, he was limited to only six defensive snaps. With this week’s trade of pass rusher Everson Griffen to the Detroit Lions, Gregory should see a significant bump in snaps against the Eagles.

Tony Pollard, RB

The Cowboys figure to run the ball more against the Eagles in an attempt to protect their rookie quarterback. And while running back Ezekiel Elliott still figures to get the bulk of the carries, his miscues this season should force Dallas to turn more to his backup, Tony Pollard. Pollard’s shifty-running style and quickness could give him an edge over Zeke behind a makeshift offensive line that’s struggling to create open running lanes.
