5 free agents the Cowboys should finally wise up and sign
Kenny Wiggins, Offensive Guard/Tackle
If the Cowboys are looking to bulk up their offensive line depth, former Detroit Lions guard Kenny Wiggins would be a nice candidate. The 32-year old was a 10-game starter for Detroit back in 2018. Wiggins played 14 games last season for the Lions and was on the field for 41% of the team’s offensive snaps.
The Lions revamped their offensive line this offseason, signing former Philadelphia Eagles lineman Halapoulivaati Vaitai to a five-year, $50 million contract as a free agent. Detroit also drafted offensive guards with back-to-back picks.
Ohio State’s Jonah Jackson and Kentucky’s Logan Stenberg were the Lions’ third and fourth round selections respectively. Jackson might be the Detroit’s best rookie this season, starting in every game so far.
Released by the Lions last Saturday after playing a single offensive snap in four games, the versatile Wiggins, who can play at either guard or tackle, has already meet with the New York Giants. So if the Cowboys are interested in a player who has starting experience and can fill four different positions along their offensive line, they’d better hurry up and get on the horn.
