Dallas Cowboys 2020 draft: 3 potential third-round cornerbacks
3. Damon Arnett, Cornerback
Arnett was born in Dallas, Texas. He played four seasons with the Ohio State Buckeyes, where running back Ezekiel Elliott made a name for himself. In high school, Arnett played linebacker and wide receiver.
He is listed at six-foot, 195 pounds. In 2019, he made the All-Big Ten, second team. With the Buckeyes, he earned two forced fumbles, 140 tackles, five interceptions, 22 pass deflections and scored an interception return of 96 yards.
He ran 4.56 seconds in the 40-yard dash. Arnett has an ideal size for a cornerback. Depending on how the new staff decides to use Awuzie and Lewis, Arnett could prove his versatility to play outside or inside.
Overall, Damon Arnett would be a nice addition to Big D and could help alleviate Byron Jones’ absence in the cornerbacks’ room. But will Arnett drop to Big D with the 82nd overall pick in the third round?
There will be plenty of cornerbacks to choose from in the first three rounds, so I don’t see the Cowboys getting thirsty and moving up to nab Arnett.
