Reshad Jones, S – Miami Dolphins

The optics for a trade involving Reshad Jones don’t look very appealing. We all know that the Dolphins are having a fire sale. And Jones is likely on the top of their moving list.

The 10-year veteran is 31-years old, has played just three games this season due to an ankle injury, and has a massive contract that pays him a base salary over $13 million this year and a combined $33 million-plus in base over the next three seasons according to Spotrac.com.

His age and price tag make Jones an unlikely trade candidate unless the Dolphins are willing to offset the deal by paying a portion of his contract and accepting low draft compensation in return. Dallas and Miami struck a similar deal earlier this year for defensive end Robert Quinn.

If a trade is made, the Cowboys would be getting a two-time Pro Bowler (2015, 2017) who has racked up no less than 94 combined tackles when completing a full 16-game season in Miami. Last season, Jones recorded 72 total tackles, nine pass defends, three interceptions and one defensive touchdown.
