Lincoln Riley – Oklahoma Head Coach

If the Dallas Cowboys truly believe that Dak Prescott is their franchise quarterback for the next decade, they better get him a head coach that can lead him to new heights. And there is no single person more suited for the job than Oklahoma head coach Lincoln Riley.

Baker Mayfield. Kyler Murray. Jalen Hurts. All three have been transformed by Riley. Both Mayfield and Murray are former Heisman Trophy winners and number one overall selections in the NFL Draft. And Hurts is currently in the Heisman race himself.

If the Cowboys want the next Sean McVay, they better lock Riley up early as there will be several suitors offering the world to hire the next brilliant, young coaching genius. And no one would figure to benefit more than Prescott, who is having a career-year despite the team’s overall poor performance.

In fact, the Dallas Cowboys landing Lincoln Riley would be too perfect … and that’s why it’s unlikely to happen. Anyone following the team for any significant length of time knows Dallas’ owner and front office have one gear when it comes to making these kinds of moves. And that’s slow! Too slow, I’m afraid, to nab a red hot coaching star like Riley.
