If you’re, say, in your mid-twenties or younger, you don’t remember the last time the Cowboys won a Super Bowl. If you’re my age, those three championships in the early 90’s are sandwiched by five losing seasons from 1986-1990 and two decades of barely above .500 football.

Those who experienced the hey day of the 70’s are either nearing Medicare age or already on it. I doubt those folks are engaging in Twitter wars are going to local pubs in full on gear on Sundays.

It would be nice to believe that these words will fire up this team. Watching a game where they play with emotion and live up to their potential would be even better. I wouldn’t hold my breathe, however.

Current (and hopefully former) head coach Jason Garrett has drained this team of any passion. It’s hard to want to play for a narcissistic, robotic clapping machine who should have never been given the job in the first place.

The two teams are evenly matched for the most part, as the records indicate. The Eagles are better offensively (then again, who isn’t better than Dallas offensively). The Cowboys are better defensively, although there is one troubling aspect.

Philadelphia currently possesses the second best run defense in football. Given that they won’t be stressed by the Cowboys’ passing attack featuring Dak Prescott at quarterback, it would stand to reason they could further load up and make Dallas one dimensional. That could spell another frustrating day for running back Ezekiel Elliott

Will Peters and Kelce’s remarks stoke any competitive flames? Can Dallas use rivalry week as a reason to get themselves off the mat and in the divisional race (sort of)?

Prediction:
Cowboys 13, Eagles 23
