SECOND ROUND – CONNOR WILLIAMS (G)

GRADE: B

Connor Williams began camp looking like a veteran starter. However, as the grind wore on his rookie weakness became evident. Williams has less than ideal upper body strength and has trouble handling brute force bull rushes.

Fortunately, the talented rookie has great feet and technique which allows him to re-center and negate some of the initial ground given. On the other hand, the strength aspect can’t be improved until next offseason’s strength program.

Williams is still a solid upgrade over last year’s starter Jonathan Cooper. He’ll do very good things in 2018, but the bull rush will cause the occasional pocket collapse.

THIRD ROUND – MICHAEL GALLUP (WR)

GRADE: A

It appears the Cowboys hit a home run with Michael Gallup. So far he’s shown to be the closest fit for replacing Dez Bryant on the field. It appears this precision route running receiver will make Dallas fans smile for years to come.

FOURTH ROUND – DORANCE ARMSTRONG (DE)

GRADE: A

I’m tempted to give Dorance Armstrong an A+ as he seemingly came out of nowhere and has outplayed all defensive ends not named DeMarcus Lawrence at camp.

Armstrong has advanced pass rush skills and a tenacious work effort. He’s proving to be a draft steal, will be an instant contributor, and has potential as a future starter.
