New York Giants 2018 defensive ranking 28th, NFC East ranking last place

The Giants lost two players that were major contributors for them over the years.

More from The Landry Hat

Defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was traded to Tampa Bay while cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie was released.

JPP gave the Giants a consistent threat to sack the quarterback while DRC was able to cover some of the best receivers in the league.

Losing both of them will definitely hurt the Giants this season.

While they lost to very notable they were also able to bring in some players to fix holes they have in their defense.

Linebacker Alec Ogletree received in a trade from the Rams can help solidify that linebacker core.

Defensive end Kareem Martin won’t replace JPP but he can give them an extra pass rusher along the defensive line.

Cornerback William Gay was a solid cornerback while in Pittsburgh but he isn’t on DRC’s level. In all the Giants lost more than they gained.

Prediction – Third Place in the NFC East
