#2. Where are the turnovers?

For years, the Dallas Cowboys have struggled without a dominate pass rusher along their defensive line. It was believed that once the Cowboys finally found themselves a true war daddy, that pressure on opposing quarterbacks would finally result in more turnovers.

More from The Landry Hat

Last season, they found their premier pass rusher in DeMarcus Lawrence. The fourth-year defender ranked second (T) in the NFL in sacks, racking up 14.5 in 2017.

Despite the presence of a dominate pass rusher, the Cowboys defense still ranked a lowly 24th in total interceptions with 10 picks (T). That was only one better than the year before.

The Cowboys must take advantage of Lawrence and his pass rushing prowess in 2018. With last year’s first round selection, defensive end Taco Charlton, getting another offseason training program under his belt, rookie rusher Dorance Armstrong being added to the mix and the possible return of former second rounder Randy Gregory to the line; Dallas has plenty of young talent opposite of Tank Lawrence.

Combine those lineman with a very young defensive secondary still struggling to find themselves a true playmaker, and this is a unit whose arrow is pointing upward. But will it be enough for them to become an elite defense in 2018? Getting more turnovers will be key in making that happen.
