The Dallas Cowboys are rumored to have set up an official visit with this underrated pass rusher out of Mississippi State.
Likely the biggest area of need on the current Dallas Cowboys roster is defensive end. Veterans Greg Hardy and Jeremy Mincey are both currently unrestricted free agents. And second-year pass rusher Randy Gregory has been suspended for the first four games of the upcoming season due to violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
This leaves the Cowboys with a serious void at right defense end, a position whose primary responsibility is to put pressure on opposing quarterbacks and to set the edge. With the free agency market severely depleted at this point, Dallas is expected to address the need in the upcoming draft.
To that point, longtime NFL Draft Analyst Tony Pauline is reporting the Cowboys are one of several teams that have scheduled an official visit with Mississippi State defensive end Ryan Brown.

During his senior season with the Bulldogs, Brown recorded 39 total tackles, seven tackles for a loss, five defended passes and 3.5 sacks. He also led the team in quarterback hurries with 10. Brown was named team captain (a trait we know the Cowboys covet) and to the SEC Academic Honor Roll last year.
In October, the 6-5, 266 pound pass rusher was named Southeastern Conference Defensive Lineman of the Week after he recorded seven tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss and a sack in a victory over Troy.
Brown played the final five games of last season with a stress fracture in his right foot. After the Egg Bowl, the senior had surgery to fix the injury. But the procedure forced Brown to miss the East-West Shrine game in January and limited him at Mississippi State’s recent pro day. The underrated prospect has scheduled a more extensive workout session in mid-April for NFL scouts, right before the draft.
CBS Sports currently ranks Brown as the 43rd best player at his position in this draft class. He is expected to go undrafted and become, what appears to be, a very in demand free agent.
