2. Jason Hatcher, Defensive Tackle

Hi Jason. Bye Jason. Welcome back Jason?

Let’s discuss.

Per Connor Orr out of NFL.com, Hatcher played in 14 of 16 games last season, earning two sacks and 16 tackles. The former six-foot-six Cowboys defensive tackle turns 34 this July.

In his two years in a Redskins uniform, Hatcher achieved 45 (combined) tackles, 7.5 sacks, and two pass deflections spread over 28 games.

His original contract to become part of the burgundy and gold was in the neighborhood of a four-year, $27.5 million contract.

He is now on the street looking for a job, just like RGIII.

The Cowboys need help on the front lines to get at the quarterback. The team ranked 25th in total sacks, earning just 31 in 2015. The defensive squad was ranked 10th in total tackles (1067), partly due to the fact that they could not get off the field.

With the ineffective pressure, the Boys had only eight interceptions, which was good for second to last in the league.

So, does signing Hatcher mean the Cowboys can find the meaning of quarterback pressure and sacks?

My Final Verdict: For the right price and terms — only. I still don’t like a Hatcher return to the Dallas Cowboys. His age and productivity the past two years doesn’t impress. He had one good season in 2013, when he recorded 11 sacks.

Before that, he was a ghost role player type.

I say good-bye. Pass. But that’s me. Maybe I’m bitter – he touted the Redskins fan base as the greatest ever.

Um. Okay.
