Every week we ask all of The Landry Hat writers and contributors to submit their picks and predictions for the upcoming game. This week, we asked our experts for their thoughts and predictions for the Dallas Cowboys vs. the New York Giants NFC East Title game this Sunday night. And here they are:

Steven Mullenax, Editor & Head Writer: After 16 weeks of watching and critiquing Dallas Cowboys’ Football, I can honestly say that I have see almost nothing from this year’s team that makes be believe they can win in New York on Sunday night. The team has the talent to win, we all agree on that. But this year’s Cowboys lack mental toughness. Starting in Week One against the New York Jets, Dallas has tried “not to lose” games instead of simply trying to win them. And Jason Garrett is too naive as a first time head coach to know how to handle the situation. The Cowboys refuse to show up in the fourth quarter in big games. We saw it against the Jets, the Lions, the Patriots, the Eagles and three weeks ago against these same Giants on our own home field. No mental toughness. And that means no playoffs for our beloved team. Giants 30, Dallas 20.

Four Big Questions Every Fan Should Ask Before the Cowboys/Giants Game

1. How will Tony Romo’s injury effect him during the game? Romo injured his hand early in the Philadelphia game on Saturday when it collided awkwardly on the helmet of defensive end Jason Babin. After a stint in the locker room, Romo appeared on the Cowboys’ sideline testing out his throwing hand. After a few test passes, it was determined Tony needed to sit out for the rest of the game. In retrospect, Romo admitted he would have tried to play if the game had any playoff implications.

X-rays of the hand turned out negative for signs of structural damage or fracture. According to Cowboys’ VP Stephen Jones, the immense swelling of Romo’s hand was caused by busted blood vessels. There is little doubt Romo will play in what has become the biggest game of the season for the Cowboys. But how will the soreness affect his throwing ability? (more…)

The Cowboys will face the Eagles tonight on Sunday Night Football (NBC) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Boys’ better bring their turtlenecks and overcoats because their playing at Lincoln Financial Field, which is an open-air stadium. This mean weather plays a big factor in all their home games.
