Most times, the answer to this question will be a resounding no. Most times, especially after a loss, fans are too emotionally charged to see past their preconceived notions when it comes to Tony Romo. There is nothing one can say, and especially no statistic to point out, that will alter their perception.

So why even have the conversation/debate in the first place?

Because we are football fans, it’s what we do; and more importantly, we are Dallas Cowboys fans. It’s in our blood; we are a loud and proud bunch (some MUCH more than others). (more…)

With only one game remaining before the first quarter of the 2012 NFL Season is closed out, let’s take a closer look at this year’s Cowboys. The upcoming Monday Night Football at home against the Chicago Bears will be a big game. It will be an opportunity for the winner to stay atop of their respective division. For the Cowboys, it will also represent an opportunity to regroup with a 75% winning percentage heading into their bye week. Starting in week six, the Cowboys will embark on their most difficult four game stretch of the season. In succession, they will face the following teams:

Cowboys back up quarterback Jon Kitna has had a statistically mediocre season since filling in for injured starter Tony Romo. However, a deeper look at the veteran QB’s statistics on the year show that he is doing very well stepping in for Dallas.

Kitna has thrown for three or more touchdown passes in half of his games as a starter. His quarterback rating is 88.3. In his worst game of the year, Kitna threw four interceptions but three of those came off of the hands of the wide receivers. He has ten touchdowns and eight interceptions. It doesn’t look that impressive, until you look at one of the key stats.
