Surprising news broke today by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. In a stunning move, Oakland Raiders star cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha has become a free agent after his contract was void — just another classic move that makes the Raiders the Raiders.

Now comes the obvious question: should the Cowboys prepare to dish out anything Asomugha wants to bring him to Dallas?

Asomugha is considered by many to be one of the top players at his position. Outside of Jets corner Darrelle Revis, Asomugha is about as close as it gets to being a shutdown cornerback. So why shouldn’t the Cowboys try to add Asomugha to a roster that has a glaring weakness in the secondary?
