Today, it appears the Vikings will be granting his wish. The 35 year old veteran will soon be looking for his fourth team in three years after spending his first eleven seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles. Could that team possibly be the Dallas Cowboys? It’s not as far-fetched as you might think.

McNabb, now in his thirteenth year, was traded to the Vikings for two late round picks from the Washington Redskins. But when he started the year 1-4, the Vikings turned to rookie Christian Ponder to save their season. Unfortunatly, Ponder has posted an identical 1-4 record since taking over. (more…)

If the recent release of Pro Bowl center Andre Gurode teaches us anything, it’s that no one is safe. And according to Coach Jason Garrett, there might still be some big names on the chopping block. But is one of those names Martellus Bennett?

Drafted in the 2nd round of the 2008 NFL Draft, the former Texas A&M tight end has clearly not lived up to his potential. Limited by a combination of injury, mental lapses, and perceived laziness (see Hard Knocks), Bennett has struggled with consistency his entire career.

In the past three seasons. he’s had 68 receptions as Jason Witten’s primary backup. But Martellus has not scored a touchdown since 2008.

Also, take into account Martellus’ numerous off the field antics. He was fined $22,000 for making an explicit rap video and posting it to Youtube. There were nude photos of him that made there way onto the web. And earlier this year, Martellus went on ESPN Radio and all but said that Jon Kitna should be the Cowboy’s starting QB instead of Tony Romo. (more…)

The Dallas Cowboys parted ways with Pro Bowl center Andre Gurode today. The team released the 10 year veteran after he was out performed by 2nd year player, Phil Costa. Gurode is just coming off recent knee surgery.

Apparently, Dallas and the 33 year old Gurode could not come to an agreement concerning the restructuring of his contract. He was scheduled to make 5.5 million in base salary this year. Dallas will now save that amount against it’s salary cap.

Gurode’s release is not a surprise after he was held out of Saturday’s pre-season game against the Vikings, despite making the trip to Minnesota. Owner and GM Jerry Jones called the move a “business decision” and mentioned that Gurode got “pushed” by other players in training camp. (more…)
