This game features two of the Thanksgiving teams. No rest for these non-turkey eaters. Who would have seen this coming, #1 Lions and #1 (in their division) Cowboys. The Lions have surely been a surprise and if you have Stafford and Johnson,Jr you are sure smiling this season. The one thing about Stafford is he is injury prone, but start this stud QB against the Dallas Secondary. The Dallas defense will certainly sack Stafford a couple times, but look for Stafford to light it up.

The Cowboys certainly have their injury woes, but let us not forget….the Packers did too when they won the Super Bowl. We cannot let injuries be an excuse for losing. It’s easy to do, but if Romo can play with a fractured rib, then Dez better suck it up and put that bruised thigh on the back burner. We need you Dez, because Ogletree (who has a cool afro) can’t run the routes that Romo is anticipating. When your next best WR is Williams, then we need others to step it up.

Here is my Fantasy Forecast: (more…)

Since our network has a site for every NFL team, I’d thought I’d get an insider’s take on the upcoming Dallas Cowboys vs. Detroit Lions Sunday match-up from behind enemy lines.

Therefore, I present five questions with the Editor of The SideLion Report, Zac Snyder:

1. Are the Matthew Stafford injury concerns behind him?

ZS – I could say yes only to see him go down against the Cowboys or say no only to have him play all 16 games this year. The truth is that we won’t really know until we see it but there isn’t any reason to believe he can’t stay healthy at this point. The coaches, doctors and Stafford himself all expect a healthy year. There aren’t any underlying issues that would prevent him from staying healthy. The offensive line kept him pretty clean through two games but he was sacked five times last week so he has taken some hits already. (more…)

The Dallas Cowboys are sitting pretty at number nine overall in the upcoming NFL Draft. Dallas will have their pick out of many of the top players, but one guy, Nick Fairley, who fans were hoping to target is now likely out of their range after his monster game in the BCS National Championship.

Fairley used his overwhelming strength to disrupt the Oregon backfield and dominate their offensive line the entire game. Prior to the game, Fairley was rated as a top 5 talent who could slip to the bottom of the top ten. However, after his performance last night he has become a top five lock and potentially a top 3 pick. Fairley could be considered for the top overall pick for Carolina, along with Clemson’s Da’Quan Bowers.

With Fairley now out of reach, Dallas will be hoping either cornerbacks Patrick Peterson or Prince Amukamara slide to them. If not, trading down for a top offensive lineman is a possibility. One final dream scenario for Dallas would be UNC’s Robert Quinn sliding due to character concerns. Quinn could come in and immediately improve the pass rush next to the guy that he has been compared to, DeMarcus Ware.
