Fans are quick to blame the officials when their favorite teams lose. No way was it the players fault! If those referees would get the calls right, they would have won. This is heard around the nation, from pee wee football to the National Football League, and everything in between, after a loss. A three-month lockout is keeping the official NFL officials out of the game. The first week the replacement officials seemed to handle their jobs just fine. The second week; however, is a completely different story. Fans, players, and even coaches are getting antsy about the calls, or lack thereof, and asking for resolution. (more…)

Football is a very brutal sport. We have all witnessed some vicious hits over the years. Who doesn’t love those hard-hitting linebackers and defensive ends when they attempt to take the head off of a quarterback? We cringe when we hear that crunch as their pads meet, but secretly, we love that sound. But with that sound, injuries happen. Players go down and we all pray they get up on their own accord. When that next play is in motion, we cheer all over again for more vicious blows. Because of this behavior, the National Football League has added new rules to try to limit the injuries the men sustain.

However, I ask you this: are they trying to emasculate the game of football? (more…)
