As Dallas Cowboy’s Owner and GM Jerry Jones, Head Coach Jason Garrett, and Defensive Coordinator Rob Ryan prepare for the 2012 NFL Free Agency period (it starts March 13th), the general consensus is that the Cowboys should be looking for upgrades to the interior of the OL, the secondary, and perhaps the pass-rush. The Cowboys have struggled to get any production out of their safeties for years. Our fan question this week asks about a specific player, one who Cowboy fans are quite familiar with. There is a survey at the end that asks what you think the Cowboys should do at safety.

Our question this week comes from a fan with a rather impressive pedigree: he is a 3rd generation Cowboy fan! Hats off to Randy’s father and grandfather for getting him started off right in life!

The 9-5 Dallas Cowboys head to FedEx Field on Sunday to play the 4-10 Washington Redskins, with a chance to clinch a playoff spot if the New York Giants lose.

The Redskins were destroyed last week against a surging Giants team hanging by a thin thread to make the playoffs. They were beaten so bad that Redskins quarterback Jason Campbell said he thought some players quit trying in the game. That’s blatantly attacking the integrity of his teammates.

That doesn’t mean the Redskins are not dangerous. It is a rivalry.

This wasn’t the case in the first 7-6 Cowboys win over the Redskins, but Sunday the Cowboys must pay attention on second-year tight end Fred Davis. Davis is the starter because Chris Cooley is injured. Davis has scored four touchdowns in three games, proving to be a red-zone favorite for Campbell. Whoever covers Davis will have to make contact with him at the line of scrimmage to slow down his route. By doing this, Campbell could rush the throw or get sacked because the offensive line is one of the worst in the NFL right now.

Can Miles Austin make big plays against LaRon Landry? Hopefully, the Cowboys won’t have to worry about this because the key to winning this game will be controlling the clock and running the ball well, which they did against the once-undefeated New Orleans Saints.

The big question mark is with special teams and new field goal kicker Shaun Suisham. He was released by the Redskins last week and the Cowboys signed him when they released the popular Nick Folk, who just forgot how to make field goals. If the last matchup is any indication of what this game will be like, then it very well could come down to someone’s foot.
