their fair share of great quarterbacks.   Is the popularity of the franchise because of the great QB’s?  Or the other way around?  Is this a chicken or egg thing?   In today’s NFL, I’ve heard it said that it’s a ‘quarterback driven league’.  Has it always been?

]]> Word went out this past week that Gregg Williams, while Defensive Coordinator of the New Orleans Saints, led a bounty system with his players from 2009 thru last year.  The NFL has conducted an investigation and found substantial proof that he did.  The implications apparently are huge – fines, suspensions and loss of draft picks – to start.

Gregg Williams himself has admitted as much by apologizing for it as a prelude to his punishment.  The General Manager and Head coach of the Saints, Mickey Loomis and Sean Payton respectively, may also be fined and suspended for not doing anything about it.  All I have to say about all this is:

]]> The Dallas Cowboys will continue to their quest to win the NFC East this week against the Arizona Cardinals. The Cowboys haven’t won a game in Zona in years. I am worried about this game, not because the Cardinals are a good team, they most certainly are not, but because it seems like something wacky always happens when they play in the desert. The last two trips there have resulted in injuries to Tony Romo, Jon Kitna, and Matt McBriar. Even in the 90s when the Boys were winning Super Bowls, I remember strange things happening in Tempe; there was at least one game when a large portion of the team had serious issues with dehydration.

The Cardinals have struggled in all three phases of the game at different times this year.
