One such pre-draft visit that will count against the Dallas Cowboys’ 30 total draft visits will be D-III defensive back from Albion College, 6’1″ 200 lbs., Chris Greenwood. Likely to end up a project and /or camp body the East West Shrine Game participant will likely end up an undrafted free agent addition to the Cowboys if the D-III standout remains undrafted.

Cowboys fans that followed defensive back Josh Robinson, this year’s NFL combine’s fastest man, and had high hopes of the Cowboys bringing in Robinson for a pre-draft visit can rest assured knowing the Dallas Cowboys are not interested or have yet to extend an invite to Robinson as of yet. A smoke screen? Quite possible but we have been unable to confirm that the Cowboys were represented at the University of Central Florida’s pro day which could speak volumes.

What will be key over the next few weeks will be to monitor who the Dallas Cowboys are bringing in to visit the facilities and sit down with coaches in order to talk shop. After potential players make their visits one could analyze draft grades for each individual visitor and get a general feel for what rounds the team could be looking to draft a certain position.

A few elements regarding the Dallas Cowboys, probability of first round selections, allows us to eliminate positions such as tackle, quarterback, running back, wide receiver and tight end.

And the second element inclusively addresses three facts concerning the Dallas Cowboys defense. Free safety Brodney Pool is signed through the 2012 season as is cornerback Mike Jenkins, who already is clamoring for a new contract and unless Anthony Spencer can be signed to a multi-year deal then the former first round draft pick will be a free agent again after the 2012 season.

These defensive issues along with the calamity at the center position last season leaves fans with a basic format   to draft needs. Combine this basic outline with the player visits over the next few weeks and a fan can go into the draft with much more clarity on what may Dallas Cowboys will do come draft day.

While the media focuses on the high profiled first round names, many NFL scouts will tell you that teams are built in rounds three through seven.
