Over the weekend I was watching some replayed NFL games on NFL Network, (which by the way in my opinion is the best channel they ever invented) and I couldn’t help thinking, just what has happened to FOX’S NFL broadcasting in the last 10 years?

I thought back to the Cowboys glory years in the early 90’s and how Sundays were golden when you couldn’t wait for Pat Summerall’s late Sunday afternoon introduction leading into the game of the week, followed by the best commentary and genuine excitement, combined with the simple but meaningful observations of broadcasting legend John Madden.

Today, all we have is the arrogance and biased broadcasting of FOX’s Joe Buck, who in my opinion is the worst broadcaster in NFL history. Buck makes it impossible to listen to him because he expresses his own biased feelings and boring attitude into each game that makes every Cowboy fan search for their remote control’s mute button faster than Demarcus Ware coming around the corner on a full out blitz.

I have to admit, I actually hate when the Cowboys get the 3pm Fox game because I know I will be watching most of the game in mime style that week. My solution is an easy one for the executives at FOX, let’s re-united Troy Aikman with the “Moose” Darryl Johnston. “Moose” Johnson is just the opposite of Joe Buck, he is Intelligent, Insightful and displays his genuine football passion every Sunday.

FOX needs to assemble its new broadcast team immediately, to gain a full year of experience before its big 2014 New York SuperBowl season. They should team veteran broadcaster Sam Rosen, Troy Aikman, and Moose Johnson together as its #1 broadcast team. Rosen has more play-play experience the Buck, he was always great doing play by play for the New York Rangers and teaming Aikman and Johnston together will have the same results in the broadcasting booth as it did on the field. Fox then can keep Kenny Albert, Brian Billick, and Tony Siragusa as its #2 pairing, and Joe Buck can continue doing baseball, allowing all of us to football fans to once again actually discover that our TV’s have surround sound every Sunday afternoon. Just a thought by your favorite Landry Hat reporter, a thought, that I know is shared by millions of NFL fans each and every week.
