In 1993, the Cowboys were at their pinnacle having just won their 1st Super Bowl in the Jimmy Johnson/Jerry Jones era.  The Oilers were a talented bunch and there was talk of an all Texas Super Bowl.  Not so fast.  The Cowboys began the 1993 season at 0-2, and the Oilers stumbled out of the gates at 1-4.  The talent was there in Houston.  Jack Pardee was in charge of the entire bunch. Buddy Ryan headed the Oiler defense.  Kevin Gilbride had Warren Moon, Haywood Jeffries, and the Run and Shoot offense.

Despite their poor start, the Oilers regrouped and won 11 games in a row to finish the regular season.  Insert Buddy Ryan throwing haymakers at Gilbride, and you have an incredibly interesting sub-plot to the football being played on the field.

Ironically, the only team the Oilers beat in their first five games (the Kansas City Chiefs) then beat the Oilers in the playoffs.  I doubt the 2010 Cowboys team has an 11 win run in them.  But I think we all would like to see some fire burning deep in our coaches.  Maybe Wade Phillips should orchestrate a WWE style shouting match with Jason Garrett.  Punches don’t have to be thrown, but it would be a distraction to the misery on the field.
