Since our network has a site for every NFL team, I’d thought I’d get an insider’s take on the upcoming Dallas Cowboys vs. Detroit Lions Sunday match-up from behind enemy lines.

Therefore, I present five questions with the Editor of The SideLion Report, Zac Snyder:

1. Are the Matthew Stafford injury concerns behind him?

ZS – I could say yes only to see him go down against the Cowboys or say no only to have him play all 16 games this year. The truth is that we won’t really know until we see it but there isn’t any reason to believe he can’t stay healthy at this point. The coaches, doctors and Stafford himself all expect a healthy year. There aren’t any underlying issues that would prevent him from staying healthy. The offensive line kept him pretty clean through two games but he was sacked five times last week so he has taken some hits already. (more…)

Did Jerry Jones press the panic button when he traded away three draft picks last night for Detroit Lions receiver Roy Williams, who in five years has equal numbers to Terrell Owens?

Deion Sanders thinks so.

“Don’t like it one bit,” Deion said. “First of all, it raises your eyebrows when a franchise gives up their best player, their best receiver. There’s a problem there. What’s the problem? I don’t understand. I’ve done my homework, checked on Roy. I don’t think Roy’s the hardest worker inside that Detroit Lion locker room that’s coming over here. ”Now, is he ready to play second fiddle? Because T.O. is the man in Dallas. Is he ready to do that? Is he losing speed? Can he get deep? What do they need?”

Roy Williams may not be a Michael Irvin, but Deion Sanders has no business judging who may be a hard worker. Just read Jeff Pearlman’s book “Boys Will be Boys” to get the inside scoop on lazy ass Sanders.

Let’s address the second fiddle comment. Terrell Owens may find himself the second fiddle if the opposing defenses are going to continue double teaming him. The defenses will have to pick and choose who they want to focus on. So, if they turn their attention to both guys, then won’t Jason Witten be that much more open. I am glad I have him on my fantasy team, as well as Marion Barber, who should see some larger holes now that we have two No. 1 wide receivers.

Now, was this a panic move?

“I smell panic, and there’s no need to panic at this time,” Deion said. “Because this is still a good team, but I feel like Jason Garrett may have gone to Jerry Jones [and said], ‘You know what? We need another receiver.’ Tony Romo: ‘You know what? We need another receiver.’

“Instead of understanding, well, Jason, they might have caught up to your offense from last year. Tony, get rid of the ball every once in a while. Let’s tell the truth to these guys. Let’s quit pacifying them.”

The Cowboys needed a wide receiver at some point. Terrell Owens has maybe 3 more years left. Roy Williams is a Cowboys until 2013. Terrell Owens is not. This was a smart move to ensure the Cowboys always have a top wide out.

Now, whether they paid too much is a different story. Some think we got fleeced.

The Adam “Pacman” Jones experiment with the Dallas Cowboys is falling apart. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended the cornerback for an indefinite amount of time because of a fight he had with his bodyguards and a Dallas hotel. ESPN reports the suspension is for at least four games.

Goodell’s letter to Jones says Jones’ “disturbing pattern of behavior was clearly inconsistent with the conditions I set for your continued participation in the NFL.”

This is another lump in an already horrible week for the Dallas Cowboys. We’ve already discussed the myriad injuries on the team, and Pacman sort of breaks the iceberg.

A light of hope, if you can call it that, is that Jerry Jones is having intense conversations with the Detroit Lions on trading for wide receiver Roy Williams. The Lions are out of their mind though if they think they will get a 1st round pick and more for Williams.

The Lions have been demanding a first-round draft choice just to consider a deal, and it is not known if Jones is willing to make the trade at that compensation level. The Cowboys could offer a second- and third-round pick, since they have multiple choices in the third round.

Other NFC teams are also in the hunt for new playmakers.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, attending the meeting of league owners, reported that the Cowboys’ NFC East rivals the Philadelphia Eagles have also made inquiries about Williams’ availability. While one GM said there was a strong possibility the Lions would trade Williams to the Cowboys or Eagles on Tuesday, Philadelphia is believed to be more interested in Kansas City Chiefs tight end Tony Gonzalez. The New York Giants and Green Bay Packers are also pursuing a deal with the Chiefs.

The Cowboys have a recent bad history of trading a No. 1 pick for a decent receiver. Joey Galloway was riddled with injuries and never panned out in Dallas.

Maybe this can provide some laughs on what has been a real tough week:
