Stephen McGee Showing Massive Improvement, According To Jon Kitna

Stephen McGee is developing into a solid pro QB

Backup quarterback Jon Kitna has shown a lot this season. He stepped up for the injured starting quarterback Tony Romo and has had a solid season under center for the Cowboys. On top of performing on the field, Kitna has shown the ability to be the leader this team has lacked and he has also spent time as a mentor.

According to Jon Kitna, third-string QB Stephen McGee has made huge strides this season.

“I’ll say this much about him: I’ve never seen a guy improve as much as he has from one year to the next at quarterback,” Kitna said. “Never seen that. It’s a very difficult thing to do.”

McGee understands that he has benefited from sitting behind Romo and Kitna and absorbing the knowledge.

The Quaterback Question

I’m wrapping up what has been a busy day to cap off a rather hectic work week, and now find myself at DFW Gate A19 for my flight to Philadelphia, PA. Now before you begin to comment that the Eagles play here Sunday; I am actually headed East bound for what I consider to be the most unique of all rivalries – The Army/Navy game.

Now I could write on and on about this special event that I attend every year, but I hope some of you are tracking where I am going with this. Here’s a hint…”Roger the Dodger”.

I did not attend either one of the Academies, but I have forged close relationships with friends during my 21 years of service as a U.S. Marine. The participation has dwindled for what evolved into an annual reunion, for many it has been family obligations and others work related.

However, I will meet up with one long time friend and decided to invite my daughter and a friend with my 2 extra tickets for their first Army/Navy weekend experience. This is what sports is about after all, friends and family gathering to watch the clash of opposing wills.

Where Did Don Meredith Rank Among Dallas Cowboys QBs?

With the passing of Don Meredith, the Dallas Cowboys have released a statement from owner Jerry Jones regarding the passing of the original Cowboys superstar.

“Don Meredith was a Dallas Cowboys original. His wit, charm, and strength of personality were matched only by his wonderful leadership, toughness and athletic skill. His persona defined the Cowboys of the 1960s and set the course for what the franchise became. Throughout 50 years of history, the Cowboys legacy has been built by dynamic and colorful personalities who could also compete at the highest level. No one fit that description better than Don Meredith.
