A field goal with no time on the clock was enough for the New York Giants to escape Texas with a victory over the Dallas Cowboys tonight.

The Cowboys defense played horribly, missing tackles and giving up long balls. Mario Manningham, whom so many teams passed over in the draft, picked the Cowboys secondary apart.

The heart-breaking loss creates a three-way tie for second in the NFC East.

The bright spot in the game was the Cowboys running game, which gained more than 250 yards. With two minutes left, the Giants seemed to get in field goal range with relative ease.

This was the first game in the new Cowboys Stadium. Next up for the Cowboys are the Carolina Panthers on Monday Night Football.

Marion Barber and Felix Jones each scored a touchdown. Jason Witten scored on a short out pattern.

Tony Romo hurt the Cowboys tonight and it was troubling to see, after the first two interceptions, the Cowboys not stick with the running game. Although Romo through for one touchdown and scored on a quarterback sneak, his three interceptions were devestating.

What does this loss mean for the Cowboys? It is way too early to tell, but just like last season, the Cowboys defense is struggling early.

Terence Newman did not play well. He got burned by Manningham on a straight route, gaining several yards on Newman for the touchdown.

DeMarcus Ware was held sackless again, which has got me stumped. The Cowboys don’t seem to be getting the pressure on the quarterback so far. In fact, the Cowboys haven’t had a sack yet, after placing second in sacks in 2008.

The offense looks good. The Cowboys have one of the best running games in the NFL. It’s the defense that is hurting the Cowboys.

What team in the NFL has 13 Pro Bowlers, three contracts above $50 million and the highest-paid coordinator who has never had control of an offense?

Meet your Dallas Cowboys, the NFL’s most-overrated team. The Dallas Cowboys are not being criticized because they lost to the Arizona Cardinals, a tough team that is undefeated at home in six games.

The Dallas Cowboys are just plain mediocre. And unfortunately, what it will take to turn this ship around is an entirely revamped coaching staff. Now 4-2, the Cowboys just put themselves right into the middle of the mixing bowl inside the best division in the NFL. An opportunity to get a game up on two teams was wasted.

Why did the Cowboys lose this game, and why will this team possibly lose control of the season?

Tony Romo is one reason. Sloppy so far this year, Romo capitalized on very little last night, overthrowing receivers, fumbling the ball, and just making bad decisions.

The secondary is another reason. Year after year after year we watch the Dallas Cowboys secondary give up the big play. Today, a guy named Breaston tore this team up. And once Breaston tore this team up, Larry Fitzgerald rose from the dead and started pounding this secondary. What may have been most embarrassing was when the Cowboys successfully had a touchdown overturned when Fitzgerald was out of bounds, only to have the Cardinals run the exact same play again for a touchdown. Yes, pathetic. But it was this secondary that allowed two first downs on pass plays that gave the Cardinals that key field goal with 3 minutes left in the fourth quarter. Marion Barber’s run at the end was just salt in the blue wound.

For the third game in a row, Terrell Owens was a non factor. It boggles ouyr minds, because it seems every other team can get the ball to their star receiver. Kurt Warner got the ball to Fitzgerald. Tony Romo can’t get the ball to Terrell Owens?

Tony Romo is the reincarnation of Danny White, another quarterback who had flashy numbers but can’t lead the team to excellence.

Wade Phillips, and the entire coaching staff, including Jason Garrett, do not know how to run a team. A nailbiter against the Eagles, Bengals and Cardinals is proof that these guys don’t have gameplans. It would not hurt the team if he were fired midseason. He does not have what it takes to be a coach in this league.

Now, to the Cardinals game. I will discuss the game more tonight, but I have to go for a run to burn off some steam and Elk steaks I ate tonight.

But let me say one thing: Unfortunately, the Cowboys don’t have a coaching staff with guts. Bobby Carpenter should be released. It was his man who barreled through to block the punt for the win.
